PAST LIFE REGRESSION
“My skepticism needed more time to erode, but the process had begun. Catherine’s severe symptoms began to disappear as she remembered more scenes from this and other prior lifetimes. I knew that imagination could not dissolve such chronic symptoms; only actual memories could. "
- Dr Brian Weiss , recounts his experience working with Catherine with Past Life Regression in his co-authored book Miracles Happen
ABOUT DR. BRIAN WEISS
Dr. Brian Weiss is an American psychiatrist and hypnotherapist. He wrote his first book, Many Lives, Many Masters, to share his journey with one of his patients named “Catherine.” He was initially skeptical about Catherine’s recollection of a timeline that was not of the present. Soon after, his skepticism dissipated as she began to share accurate details about his father and son, both of whom had passed away. From one lifetime to another, the persisting symptoms that Catherine had been experiencing began to subside.
He began documenting more stories from his clients who have experienced past life regression. Through his books, he recounts the stories that his clients have been through, allowing more revelations of healing to surface. This has provided a deeper understanding and insights into how interconnected we are and also into viewing the process of healing as a fluid continuum of the soul and not just the physical body. By doing so, we can attain greater awareness as beings.
THE IMPACT
The question I would normally get is why I would explore Past Life Regression. My response would always be that I didn't go seeking it; it came to me. I came across the book Many Lives, Many Masters without knowing the author, nor was I searching for it. While waiting for a friend, I entered a bookstore and stood by the "Fiction" book shelf. All the books were neatly slotted, but one book facing me piqued my curiosity, and I reached out for it. This book should have been in the "New Age" section, not "Fiction." I read the first few pages and headed to the counter to purchase it. I became deeply engrossed not because of the interesting topic, but rather because the author's recounts felt strangely familiar and resonant. Not long after, someone shared the same book with me, and I was later introduced to Past Life Regression. It took me over a year to decide to explore this new modality for my self-work journey. Even after five years, my first session continues to bewilder me as I explore the unknown depths of the subconscious realm. Literally, I opened a can (not of worms) of synchronistic encounters that have transformed my inner world and beliefs. To this day, I can only say that we are a constant work in progress, and I carry this statement with full uncertainty about the future, but in the name of unconditional love, not fear. The exponential nature of life should also reflect the exponential possibilities that one can create. Life has become a great teacher, and we should not be restricted by shoulds and should nots when it comes to embarking on self-discovery. Keep an open mind on this journey.

TESTIMONIAL
MORE RESEARCH ON REINCARNATION
In a Netflix docuseries called Surviving Death episode 6, it recorded Dr. Jim Tucker, a child psychiatrist working with two children who have vivid memories of their past life. Through working with them, he would run through a series of assessment to validate their memories and provide an objective and scientific approach in his primary research on past life memories. Dr. Jim is the Bonner-Lowry Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia’s Division of Perceptual Studies, as well as the director of the university’s Division of Perceptual Studies.
“Near-death experiences are subjective experiences that are very difficult for people to confirm objectively. And that raises questions for scientists. Many of the critics of this research complain that it is just anecdotes. But actually, when you look at the history of science all science starts with the collecting of anecdotes and then finding patterns among those different stories and there are millions of these experiences being reported across the globe.” — Dr. Bruce Greyson
FROM GRIEF TO UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
When I came across a video of Anita Moorjani recounting her life story with lymphoma and a near-death experience, where her vitals were shutting down and doctors were preparing her family for her imminent demise, it brought me comfort during my own grief. Nothing truly prepares you for the passing of a love one, and I’ve learned that everyone’s grief is unique and personal. How can we handle death better? How can we grieve better? What can we understand about death, regardless of religion, so that we don’t get held back and can move forward, not just to survive but to live life more fully? For survivors, how can we overcome our fear of death?
Her experience draws several parallels to the work of Dr. Brian Weiss and Dr. Michael Newton. Michael Newton was a counseling psychologist, hypnotherapist and regressionist who wrote the book Journey of Souls, where he documented case studies of life between lives. All of these works and accounts have brought great comfort and wisdom to the living.
